Packaging Materials

1. Materials

    PP

We provide world-class polypropylene (PP) food packaging containers. Polypropylene (PP) is a linear hydrocarbon polymer, expressed as CnH2n. With its features of transparency and high-food grade quality raw material, Polypropylene is one of the most versatile polymers available of the plastics in food packaging markets. PP is cost-effective, disposable, safe, versatile and environmentally friendly and is ideal for food packaging.

    PLA

Polylactic acid (PLA) is a corn-based polymer and is compostable. (Bread bags, coffee/ window bags, bio-view sandwich bags) This
environmentally friendly renewable resource is efficient to manufacture. Normal heat tolerance of PLA is 110 degrees (F). Remember to keep these products out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place. Corn cutlery has a heat tolerance of 140 degrees, but all other corn plastic food containers and cups can only withstand temperatures of 110 degrees.
Our natural kraft Paper (bread bags and coffee bags) is 40% recycled (25% postconsumer). Grease resistant natural kraft paper (Bio-
View sandwich bags, portion bags, sheets) is unbleached, 100% compostable, and recyclable material. See our Biodegradable products.

We guarantees that all products shipped out of our temperature controlled warehouse are in good condition prior to shipping. We do not take responsibility for any products that melt during shipping or after a customer receives them.

    Starch-Based  Polymers

In general starch-based biodegradable plastics have starch contents ranging from 10% to greater than 90%. Starch based polymers can be based on crops such as corn (maize), wheat or potatoes. Starch content needs to exceed 60% before significant material breakdown occurs. As the starch content is increased, the polymer composites become more biodegradable and leave fewer residues. Our starch-based biodegradable food containers degrade safely and completely back into nature without releasing any toxic by-products. Our biodegradable clamshell, plates, cutlery, etc. have high heat tolerance of up to at least 190 degrees F in microwave.  See our Starch-based biodegradable containers.

Defining Biodegradable and Compostable

Biodegradable products break down by natural processes into smaller simpler parts that eventually decompose. Biodegradation can occur with the help of water, oxygen or light. On the other hand, compostable products decompose in a compost site with the help of microbes that can digest the material in a short amount of time, usually 60 to 180 days in a industrial composting facilities.

Most landfills are not designed to allow biodegrading of their contents. is fully compostable in a composting facility. In addition, Our biodegradable food container is made from a renewable resource – sugarcane pulp – instead of regular plastic that is made from oil.

2. Usage

Our food packaging products meet FDA regulation for food packaging and is safe to use in temperature from 40 F to 240 F. (4 C ~116 C), vary by brands. Please see Conditions of Use.

3. Freezer grade

Made with special resin, freezer-grade container resists temperature below 40 F. **Freezer-grade is available for certain products in minimum order of 20,000 units, approximately 80 cases. If you are interested in frezzer grade product, please email us at Support@FoodPackagingWarehouse.com

4. Size

Please see the product descriptions. We offer various sized specialty platic food containers. All sizes refer to liquid capacity: 4 oz , 12 oz, 16 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz, 38 oz, 42 oz, 48 oz*Availability depends on our inventory.

5. Tamper evidence

Our In-Mold Labeling product line is tamper evident after closing. Leak resistant for water. Most of our other food containers are leak resistant. However, we always recommend customers test before filling other types of liquid, such as oil, since different liquid forms require specific types of containers.
